Ubisoft have been teasing an announcement on its YouTube channel today with a live stream of a cave painting (which over 11,000 people were watching) but the IGN Turkey Twitter account revealed it to be an Ice Age Far Cry game. The Twitter account has since been suspended, hence why we cannot embed the tweet in this article. However you can check out the above image that was revealed in the tweet, as well as the live cave painting video below!
If you watched some of the stream you probably noticed cavemen fighting Wooly Mammoths and sabre tooth tigers, skinning Elk, performing rituals and more. No word yet on what mammals, or dinosaurs, may feature in the game. On a personal note, I can’t help but wonder how exactly this game will work with weapons and modes of transport, I mean, yes there are weapons but what about upgrades? And what modes of transport could there possible be. It will be really interesting to see the full reveal.
It seems that, for now at least, this is being taken as a spin-off game in the series, which would make it the first of its kind. Of course Ubisoft did release the very well-received Far Cry 3 DLC Blood Dragon and that seemed to give them leeway with the series and the option to do more outlandish things. I do find the timing of this announcement a little odd, considering Ubisoft has Assassin’s Creed Syndicate coming in less than 3 weeks, then Rainbow Six Siege in December.
Stay tuned to GameSkinny for the inevitable official reveal of Far Cry Primal and hopefully more details very soon.
